Shopping Spree

Jack needed clothes that fit is EVER growing little body, he is completely out of 6-9 months now. And since it is SOON to get cooler outside and stay that way, hopefully, it was time to go shopping for him. I have to say that thanks to the generosity of friends and family.. I really have not had to buy him much. So I had a lot of FUN shopping for him! And thanks to our friend OLD NAVY, we got some great deals! I only spent $60 and look at all the stuff we got! He is good to go now until after December, I hope anyway! They really have some cute stuff out right now for boys! I had always thought that everyone made really cute girls clothes and nothing really appealing for boys, but things have changed and the boy stuff is adorable too!!

now we just have to wait for the weather to change so he can sport his new clothes. Come on fall weather!!!

New Hobbies

As a new stay at home mom, I am always looking for something to occupy my "extra" time, not that I have much extra time with  a 9 month old, who is into EVERYTHING! But My cousin wanted some nap mats for her girls to take to Mother's Day Out, so, I say... "Oh those are easy to make", "I can do it". Mind you that I have taken sewing lessons.. but that was 4 years ago and the biggest thing I made was a pillow and a bag. But I see all these people making stuff as I read/follow blogs and I always want to try to make these things so, here was my chance to make something. Off to the material store I WE went. Wow! What to get, where to start, Material. Is. Expensive! But that is what makes these things so darn cute! So here is the result of my first REAL attempt at sewing. I think it turned out alright. The second mat is already in production, and easier to make than the first one was.. I am a PRO now.. HA, I made a funny! I have so much to learn!

 But I like it, SEWING. Is. Fun!

Its a Jack in the Basket!!

He is so content playing by himself he decided to get in the basket with his toys! Our living room has become his playroom...I keep it picked up though!

I CHALLENGE MYSELF...

So this month I am challenging myself to this:

1. I will not make the same thing for dinner; each night this month it will be something different. So far so good. I am keeping track of everything we have, near the end of the month I will post everything I made this month! My rule is that as long as I am HOME and cooking it in my kitchen it counts, if I am at someone else's and they make what I already have made this month then it is ok!
2. Also, I am traning to run a half marathon... Kristi and I are actually splitting the half in a relay one of us will run 5 miles and the other 7 miles. Training was going great until last week.. and well now not so good. Date for this is November 14th in San Antonio.
3. I also plan on running the White Rock 1/2 marathon on December 4th.... this one I have not signed up for yet but will.

on another note.. I ran my first marathon in January of 2005 and second in March of 2005, so its been a while... I am in my 30's now, HA! But I intend on bettering my time from the first two.

Radio Flyer

Steve thinks Jack's all time favorite toy will be his Radio Flyer. I wouldn't doubt it at all if it is! We have a lot of fun with the wagon. Lots of walks with it, can be used as a mini pool, and something to nap in when necessary. I can't wait to see Jack filling it up with dirt, rocks & his toys and pulling it around, but for now I will pull him around it!

Labor Day weekend fun.

For starters we headed to the lakehouse on Friday night.. and spent the whole day there on Saturday. Lots of wagon rides and laying in the hammock. It was a fun filled day.

End of Summer Fun!

Last week Christi and her girls, Carlee & Lanie, came to visit! We had a blast, from going to the pool to the spraypad to playing in the back yard with buckets & the water hose! Jack had so much fun playing with the girls all week, they were quite entertaining for him--he was exhausted when they left but looking for them when he woke up!! Here are a few pics from the week!
